NEW ISUZU TROOPER LWB COMMERCIAL ANNOUNCED

Due to strong dealer demand, Isuzu has introduced a long-wheelbase version of its 3.0 litre Diesel Turbo Trooper Commercial off-roader - available immediately.

This complements the recently introduced 2.5 litre turbocharged and intercooled TF Pickup range which comprises Single or Crew Cabs in two or four-wheel drive.

It means Isuzu now has no fewer than eight light commercial vehicle models to offer everyone from farmers and construction companies to local authorities and emergency services.

Meanwhile, Isuzu Trooper passenger sales are 22 per cent up so far this year with the existing SWB Commercial showing a 27.6 per cent increase.

Tough, Spacious, Practical
Based on the Trooper Duty passenger model, the new LWB Commercial offers generous load space of over 84 cu ft plus the convenience of four passenger doors and twin rear doors for convenient loading and unloading.

And with a maximum payload of 731 kg, braked towing limit of 3,500 kg and ground clearance of 210 mm, the new model will have wide appeal to anyone requiring a four-wheel drive workhorse.

Comfortable Specification, Painless Price
Priced at £18,097.02 on-the-road (excluding VAT), the Trooper LWB Commercial differs from the passenger Duty model by having a durable, flat, non-slip load floor, vertical cargo restraint, practical steel wheels instead of alloys, metal panels to replace the glass from the B-post rearwards and, of course, the removal of the rear seats.

Standard equipment includes a rear limited-slip differential, selectable 'shift-on-the-fly' four-wheel drive, power-steering, electric front windows and door mirrors, central-locking, engine immobiliser, tinted glass, cloth seat and door trim, mud-flaps and side-protection mouldings.

Smoother, Quieter Common-Rail Diesel
At the heart of the Trooper's enduring attraction is its twin overhead-camshaft
16 valve four-cylinder 3.0 litre Diesel Turbo engine with a massive 159 PS at only 3,900 rpm and an equally outstanding 245.6 lb ft of pulling power at 2,000 rpm.

The Trooper was the world's first passenger car to be fitted with a common-rail and electronically-controlled unit injection - seen as the biggest diesel engine advance since direct-injection began to replace indirect-injection.

Improvements for 2002 included enhanced smoothness, refinement and starting characteristics, lower exhaust emissions and even better fuel economy.

In fact, the Trooper DT passenger models record 32.5 mpg on the Extra Urban Cycle yet can reach almost 100 mph and have a 0-62 mph time of 13.8 seconds in LWB form.

Like all Trooper and TF Pickup customers, owners of the new LWB Commercial will benefit from a three-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper mechanical warranty plus a six-year anti-perforation warranty.

They will also enjoy the reassurance of three years' membership of Isuzu Assistance, a comprehensive home and roadside repair and recovery package valid throughout the UK and Europe.

In addition, sales and servicing support is well-established and widespread, with 95-plus dealers within the Isuzu (UK) Limited network.
